Rt 101

It was a long day of riding. 330 miles today switching between 'very coastal' and 'kinda coastal'. The traffic around LA was terrible - pockets of just sitting there on a five-lane highway. CA allows lane sharing between motorcycles and cars, but my huge bike was about two-mirrors wider than I wanted to share with anyone. Good thing it's got a radiator - one of the main reasons Harleys overheat in traffic.  My new word was SuperTrafficCaliforniaExpiAllAtrocious.

Elephant Seal Cove had piles of seals molting their outer skin layers.  Two of them were caught giving the 'ol chest bump (right after they dug their teeth into each others necks).

Buellton, home of the split pea soup, had some fantastic scenery and nice curvy roads through the hills. Another 80 miles or so, and I was at my new friends' home in San Luis Obisbo. They gave me a quick tour of the downtown area and we had Thai food.  Joy wanted a quick tour around the neighborhood.
